The cloud will make up three quarters of data center traffic in 2018

Cisco warning in 2018, a quarter of the global population will use personal cloud storage In the next four years, traffic data centers is expected to nearly triple, largely thanks to an industry that cloud computing is booming. That’s according to the annual Global Cloud Index Cisco Wednesday, predicted that the cloud will account for 76% of total data center traffic by 2018. That’s up from accounting for 54% of cloud traffic data center last year. The report, released Tuesday, also found that in 2018, half the world’s population will be able to access the Internet, and 53% of users will store content on the cloud storage service personal. Cisco study was released the same day that a new Google pushing it to get the market momentum in the public cloud by dropping prices and adding features and updates. The cloud will make up three quarters of data center traffic in 2018 Google, along with rivals Amazon cloud, IBM and Microsoft, are stepping up their efforts to cloud because the market is growing very fast. In the spring of Forrester Research reports that the market of public cloud computing is set to “hypergrowth”, and is expected to reach $ 191 billion by 2020. That’s a big jump from $ 58 billion in market end of 2013. While the public cloud is showing a 50% growth rate, the growth rate of both hybrid and private cloud came in at a strong 40% and 45%, according to Synergy Research Group. Cisco report predicted echoes a similar growth rate. Research predicts that traffic data centers worldwide will nearly triple 2013-2018, growth in 2013 to 8.6 years from 3.1 zettabyte each zettabyte per year. A zettabyte is a trillion gigabytes. Cisco says 8.6 zettabyte data center traffic is equivalent to approximately 500,000 lines of all the movies and TV shows ever made 3,000,000 in ultra-high definition 250,000 times. The report of the company were calculated using data from the central server shipment data, installed base of the workload and the number of bytes per workload per month. The company said it used data from market research firm Gartner, IDC, Juniper Research and Synergy Research.
